A mid face lift repositions sagging middle facial soft tissue to create a more youthful appearance. This is an excellent treatment for people who have lost the fullness of their cheeks and developed a ‘double bubble’ deformity that exposes the lower orbital rim, or a sunken or flattening of their nasolabial fold (the vertical line from the nose to the corners of your mouth). Often, this is associated with a tired or aged appearance to the lower eyelids as well as a downward movement of the malar fat pads which can lead to festoons around the eyes.
The surgical procedure involves making small incisions within the hairline, ear and temple area to access the supporting muscles of your face to tighten and firm them. Excess fat is removed and the muscle support structures are repositioned to elevate your cheek fat pads to create more prominent cheekbones. The skin is then sutured and closed to complete the surgery. For more subtle changes, volumizing fillers such as Radiesse and Silhouette InstaLift or the nonsurgical technique Ultherapy can be used to improve midfacial volume and skin laxity.
The result of a mid face lift is a more balanced, natural appearance and it should never look ‘pulled’ or ‘surgerized’. Our clients are often complimented by onlookers for looking refreshed, well rested or even younger than they really are. It is important to discuss your individual concerns with Dr Verma and he can recommend which procedure(s) will best suit you. mid-face lift
